2013 DCF Holiday Gift Drive

dcf_new_logo_m_normalContinuing on the success of our yearly Gift Drive, CT-Moms Online – as well as dozens of fellow local parenting groups – are getting together to make special wishes come true for children in our local foster system through DCF (The Department of Children & Families). With hundreds of social workers in our local area alone, and each of them having a workload of at least 20 or 30 foster children, the need is unimaginable. We were able to provide thousands of dollars worth of gifts to over 800 kids last year, and this year our goal to help over 1000 kids know that they are important and valued.  Unwrapped gifts must be purchased by December 15th, and we will have drop off locations throughout the county.

In addition, if you’d like to get your preschool, daycare, Moms groups or office involved to help with these needs we would absolutely welcome the parternship to help fulfill this ever-growing list – please email us!! Thank you to the MOMS Club of Stamford – South-West, Sun Products Corp, The Attachment Parenting MeetUP GroupThe Working Moms of Fairfield County,  MOMS Club of Trumbull, Babies and Babble, AQR Capital Management, and Mom Gets a Life Meetup for their continued support of the Gift Drive.  If you would like to download a flyer to post to your organization, please click here

In the past, CT-Moms has helped the DCF with Yankee Tickets, Easter Baskets and other special requests like Air Jordan sneakers for a job-well-done or a new iTouch for a child who had their stolen.  We feel passionate about doing anything we can to help these kids ‘in the system’ know that they are important and valued in this world. Let’s help them all get at least one special item  this year that they know was purchased just for them.

Please click on this Google Documents link here to see our list and sign up with which child(ren) you’ll take. Please put your full name and email address in the columns besides the child(ren) for whom you would like to purchase gifts. DCF will be sending us more names in the coming weeks and we will continue to add them to our document. Additionally, there will also be a registry on Amazon where you can easily shop and send your gifts.

No time to shop but still want to help?? You can mail your donation (gift card, check payable to “CT-Moms Online” or well-concealed cash) to: CT-Moms  P.O. Box 106   Greens Farms, CT 06838 or, you can donate to this drive via Paypal. If you are donating towards a specific child, please put that Child # and Name in your Paypal “comments” field so we can earmark that money to shop for that child:
